We spent today at the San Diego Zoo. Since yesterday was a very full day at SeaWorld, we took it relatively easy. As it happened, we bumped into our son's classmates again (we had spent Monday with them at Legoland). We first took the bus tour around the zoo, and then walked around seeing the bears, reptiles, gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans, lizards, various birds, and other animals. We wandered through the koala bear exhibit and waited in line to visit the mating pair of panda bears on loan from China. Several hours of walking today, but we called it a day at about 4:00 pm and headed back to Oceanside.
Since we were planning to spend the following two days at Disneyland, we discussed whether it would be more advantageous to find a hotel closer to Disneyland. After weighing the pros and cons, and making sure we could get an inexpensive motel, we packed our bags. By 8:30 pm, we were checked out of our timeshare and on our way to Anaheim.
We arrived in Anaheim just as the fireworks went off. As it turned out, the fireworks were being launched just across the street from our hotel. The concussions were so strong that they rattled the windows on my car and in the hotel. Quite an exciting arrival!
